A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Comparative Analysis of the Calculation of Composite Reinforced Concrete Slabs with Steel Decking According to Russian and European Standards
Reinforced concrete slabs with steel profiled decking as permanent formwork are a modern, technologically advanced and cost-effective type of structure. Their calculation is performed for two stages: construction and operation. At the stage of floor construction, the main supporting structure is the formwork, which also plays the role of a working platform. At the stage of operation, the steel flooring is included in the work of the floor slab due to the ties (punchings, profile type, anchors), which prevent the steel from slipping relative to the concrete. This type of structure has become widespread, including in the territory of the Russian Federation. The authors carried out a comparative analysis of Russian (STO 0047–2005 “Steel-reinforced concrete slabs with a monolithic slab on steel profiled flooring. Calculation and design”) and European (Eurocode-4 “Design of composite steel and concrete structures”) calculation methods. Revealed significant differences in the considered methods. The conclusion is made about the impossibility of applying the European normative document in the Russian design practice without its adaptation, as well as the need for further research in this area.
