    Hydraulics of Stepped Spillways Having a Prismatic Rectangular Profile and Horizontal Steps

    The results of hydraulic studies of stepped spillways are presented. Bakhmeteff’s method, currently used in practice, is demonstrated to have a systematic spillway calculation error of 5%. A method for calculating the length of the spillway steps with an error of less than 1% is proposed.
