A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Building Information Modeling Technology in Construction Companies
Digital technologies have become a part of everyday life. It should be said that the life of modern society is becoming closely connected with information and communication technologies (ICT). Competent integration of modern ICT appears to be a significant competitive advantage for organizations. Currently, the implementation of the building information modelling (BIM) standard in the field of architecture, design, construction and facility management is a prerequisite in the construction industry for digital business transformation. With increasing investment and reliance on computer technology, there is a need to make changes to the building design process due to risks to data integrity, abuse, privacy issues, etc. The paper explores the possibility of implementing BIM modelling in a construction company. To implement the BIM standard, an analysis of existing proposals from companies implementing BIM modelling systems was conducted. Based on the research, a company that provides software for industrial and civil construction was chosen. A plan for implementation of the new IT solution in the construction company engaged in modern hotels design has been developed. A predictive assessment of the effectiveness of the information system implementation was carried out. The introduction of BIM modelling increases productivity leads to transparency of all processes at the design stage and reduces the design time. This allows to reduce costs and to improve the efficiency of the enterprise.
