Ventilation for Underground Excavation
Abstract The object of ventilation in a tunnel or shaft is to provide fresh air or to extract pollutants, in order to achieve an acceptable environment. The requirement of ventilation for underground excavation, fans and ducts to be used, three type of ventilation systems, ventilation design and ventilation optimization are illustrated in this chapter.
