Exploring Large Braided River Systems: Understanding the Dynamics and Pathways of River Recovery
In the twenty-first century, it is crucial to recognize the heterogeneity in fluvial controls along the Indian river systems. In addition, tracking the river recovery, and associated geomorphic and vegetative attributes’ evolutions are crucial for Indian Himalayan river systems, where archival fluvial benchmark information was inadequately maintained. The present chapter focuses on the issue of river recovery trajectory assessment along complex fluvial systems and has highlighted the importance of integrating Google Earth Engine and cloud computing, fine resolution images and advanced river surveying equipment in assessing the fluvial health.
