Measures for the Long-Period Ground Motion
Abstract Long-period earthquake ground motion greatly affects earthquake resistance of skyscrapers, so it is necessary to create long-period ground motion for use in its dynamic design. This chapter describes concretely how to create long-period ground motion caused by a huge earthquake that is thought to occur in the near future in Japan by means of “Notifications in 2010 and in 2016 concerning the creation of long-period earthquake ground motion for design” by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in Japan.
