The bridges on Avenida 68 with Américas in Bogotá, Colombia, built in the late 1960s, are structurally inadequate for current seismic standards. The superstructures consist of two parallel continuous precast prestressed concrete spans, featuring cantilevers and supported by variable cross-section piers. Rehabilitation efforts focused on raising pier heights, installing Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) strips, adding seismic shear keys, and replacing bearings and joints to enhance structural resilience.
