New Mechanism of Transport Phenomena in Spin-Polarized Quantum Systems
Abstract The presence of spin polarization in a quantum many-body system significantly influences its macroscopic behavior and especially its transport properties.1 The influence of polarization on transport may be traced to the substantial contribution of the exchange interaction to the scattering of identical particles with spins. The magnitude of the scattering amplitude for two colliding particles depends on their total spin. Magnetic polarization produces a change in the occupation numbers of the different spin states, in particular, a change in the ratio of the number pairs of scattering particles with even total spin to the number of pairs with odd spin.
