A computer-aided design and analysis of a modular flexible fixturing system for aircraft fuselage panel assembly
Today, the aerospace industry is improving competitive systems because of potential development in new aircraft demand, which are to be supplied on a unique manufacturing system while diminishing components changeover time and developing the total quality management program of the manufacturing system. It should be successfully using special jigs and fixtures in the production system. A specialized modular fixture includes standard components that can be applied to success flexibly and rapidly respond to engineering design characteristics. In our study, the purpose of the concept is to design and analyze flexible modular fixtures for aircraft fuselage panel assembly for the aerospace industry. The developed modular fixturing system can be easily adapted to other sectors such as automobiles or machinery due to its flexibility.
