    Acceptance and Effectiveness of Smart Home Solutions

    Abstract Despite current developments in health care, demographics, and technology, the implementation and use of smart home technologies has so far not been as effective as possible. Possible barriers are a lack of incentives and vision on technology application, the complexity of technology and the financing structure, the multidisciplinary collaboration, and the user-technology interaction. This chapter describes recommendations to increase the effectiveness of smart home technology, which relate to a better user-fit, evidence-based practice, technological improvements, project organization, and the financing structure.
