Estimation of Efficiency of Use of Flat Solar Collectors in Temperate Climate Regions
The article is devoted to solving the urgent problem of assessing the efficiency of flat solar collectors in hot water supply systems of single-family homes in temperate climate regions. Ten cities of Ukraine with different geographical location and climatic parameters were selected for comparison. Evaluation of the efficiency of solar collectors was carried out by two indicators: the solar share and the efficiency of the solar collector. Graphical dependences of results of analytical researches of an estimation of efficiency of use of flat solar collectors are resulted. It is determined that the average annual solar fraction for selected cities of Ukraine is quite high and is 0.61. The average annual efficiency of the solar collector for selected cities of Ukraine is 0.55, which allows us to say about the sufficient efficiency of flat solar collectors in hot water supply systems of single-family homes. It is established that the intensity of solar radiation and ambient air temperature in this region have the greatest influence on the efficiency of a flat solar collector in hot water supply systems.
