Structures included in the Araks hydroengineering complex
Conclusions The correct selection of naturally occurring soils made it possible to dispense with specially selected costly back filters between the core and the outer prisms, and beneath the facing of the upper slope of the dam, and thus to reduce very considerably the cost. Work on the reinforced-concrete structures was greatly accelerated by the use of large supporting reinforcement cages (over the full height and width of the stage) including the whole effective reinforcement, the girders of the overhead covers with a concreted bearing sheathing plate, and a stock metal sheathing.
