Use of Circular Section for Combined and Torsion Loading
In many of the cases, it is a challenge to design a steel member for a combined loading along with a torsional loading, in such a case, there is a high displacement at the free end due to torsion in vertical member of arrangements like a L-Frame. To reduce such a problem, circular pipe is used as a vertical member instead of a general practice of using a I-Section.
