Water Treatment Upgrade of Steam Drum Boilers Based on a VTIAMIN Reagent
The current operating conditions of the steam boilers of combined heat and power plants and the waste-fuel boilers of industrial enterprises are characterized by frequent deviations from the design chemistry in terms of the quality of makeup and feed water, as well as in terms of process parameters, specifically, following a long downtime. Under these conditions, the conventional water chemistry does not achieve the standard water and steam quality target, which requires an alternative water chemistry, specifically, on the basis of amine-containing reagents. For this purpose, imported and Russian-made complex reagents can be used. The article presents the results of studying domestic VTIAMIN reagents developed on the basis of the VTIAMIN KR-33 reagent under industrial conditions. These studies were carried out on steam boilers of medium and high pressure as part of pilot tests with the aim of upgrading and adopting water chemistry to address specific problems associated with equipment operation. The obtained data were processed via standard procedures, yielding quantitative results that characterize a reduction in the corrosion rate of heat transfer surfaces.
