Risk based inspection planning
Optimal inspection planning for structures is a topic of considerable interest in various industries. An efficient framework for inspection planning is risk-based decision analysis. Using this framework, it is possible to establish Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methodologies, that is to say inspection plans which are based on the criticality of structural components. This paper presents the detailed RBI analysis which may be applied to the most critical components of the structure. An example of the application of the procedure is given for a steel offshore tripod structure.
