Studies of Old Mortars and Plasters from the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman Period of Anatolia
The characterization of ancient mortars and plasters has become increasingly important for the restoration and conservation of old monuments particularly after the unsatisfactory results of new materials such as cement, polymer-based mortars and insulating platers used for restoration purposes.
In this work, quantitative data of lime-based mortars and plasters are given with respect to the chemical, mineralogical and petrographical analysis.
