Experimental Study on Full-Scale Seismically Damaged Precast Concrete Columns Repaired Using Replacement Concrete Method
This research investigated the seismic performance of seismically damaged precast concrete columns (PCCs) repaired using replacement concrete method, through three full-scale tests. One reinforced concrete column (RCC) was tested as a counterpart. Seismic performances of three repaired PCCs were comparable with that of RCC and PCCs, with a drift ratio less than 3.3%. Due to the early buckling of rebar, the ultimate drift ratios of repaired PCCs were 3.6%–3.8% which smaller than those of RCC and PCC without grouting defects, but larger than 2%. The effects of initial grouting defect ratio and repair height on performance of repaired PCCs were negligible.
