Uncertainty Analysis and Spatial Correlation of Ground Motion in the Kanto Basin, Japan
Spatial correlation of ground motion in the Kanto Basin in Japan is studied based on 5760 dense network seismic records from 61 earthquake events. The inter-event, intra-event and total correlations of zero separation distance ground motion parameters are obtained, and the results show that the inter-event residuals have stronger correlation than the intra-event residuals and total residuals. A prediction equation for the correlation model of ground motion parameters in the Kanto Basin is proposed. Compared with others model, the proposed model obtained better spatial correlation and correlation length of ground motion in the Kanto Basin.
