In the Southeastern Anatolia Project, 13 major groups of water resources development projects-primarilyfor irrigation and hydropower-areplanned to develop and manage soil and water resources in the south-eastern part of Turkey. In this paper, the innovative approaches which are being implemented for sustainable water resources development in the Southeastern Anatolia Project are described.
