Laboratory and in situ permeability tests were carried out on compact clay soil from Montré. In situ tests have been undertaken with a Guelph permeameter modified in order to measure low hydraulic conductivities. In the laboratory, the evolution of the degree of saturation and of the permeability has been studied with a hydraulic triaxial cell permeameter equiped with digital controllers to apply different hydraulic gradients and confining pressures. The saturation of samples has been followed by the measurement of the pore pressure. The comparison of the results obtained in the laboratory and thoses obtained in situ, has showed quite a good concordance.
