Materials wastage - a misuse of resources
Research in the UK reveals that the direct waste of materials on site, mostly through mishandling, is frequently twice that assumed in contractors' pricing and is enough to build another 13 000 dwellings a year. Ideas for improving this situation are discussed by the head of the Prices and Quantities Section of the Building Research Station of BRE.
