Impacts of recent floods on the rural environment of Bangladesh
Flood is a recurrent feature in Bangladesh because of the country's geographical location. The 1987 and 1988 floods were unprecedented, and caused untold suffering to the people and a serious setback in the overall development of the country. This article reports the impacts and severity of those two floods on the rural livelihood of two flood-prone villages situated within the central region of the country.
