Welded wire shear reinforcement under cyclic loading
Describes research at the University of Manitoba, financed by the Canadian National Science and Engineering Research Council, to test the behaviour under cyclic loading of this fabric used as shear reinforcement. Its effectiveness proved similar to that of conventional single-legged stirrups, and anchorage by top and bottom horizontal wires was adequate. The shear capacity of the prestressed beams tested deteriorated much faster than the flexural capacity.
