New-technology roofing membranes
A joint committee from CIB and RILEM has produced a report, summarised here, on these newer materials for low-slope roofs which are being used increasingly but which have brought some unexpected problems in service. Through its members from 16 countries and through special task groups, the committee has surveyed international experience of these membranes, and analysed existing tests in order to identify those test procedures which can aid the general development of performance-based standards. The chairman of CIB W83-RILEM SLR75 is Mr W. C. Cullen, of the National Roofing Contractors Association of America. The secretary is Dr W. J. Rossiter Jr, of the US National Bureau of Standards.
