Cellular Concrete Carbonation
Differences in manufacture can account for variations in the absorbed moisture equilibrium of samples of lite same cellular concrete. But experiments at the Lithuanian Research Institute of Building and Design hare shown that the absorption capacity of cellular concretes, and thus the moisture content of the associated building envelopes, are greatly dependent on the natural carbonation of the material. Overlooking this phemen could lead to significant errors in calculating the likely humidity behaviour of building envelopes.
