Drawing is the primary medium of inquiry for this study of a Carthusian monastery in Calci, Italy. The study makes use of on-site documentation and analytical drawings to map the architectural setting for a monk's daily rituals and customs, and to speculate on the temporal and permanent elements in the life of this unique religious community.
