Korea's Oceans Policymaking: Toward Integrated Ocean Management
The ocean policymaking process to provide for integrated ocean use management is complicated and includes enacting laws, establishing of oceans policies, and acquiring resources. Over the last half century, ocean policymaking in Korea has included both integrated oceans policies and the establishment of ocean-related agencies. However, limited experiences in ocean policymaking and weak constituencies have left these policies defenseless to some opposition. However, more experience with integration may lead to more effective ocean policies and agencies.
