Civil engineers' managerial roles and needs: report of survey
The paper presents results from a survey of civil engineers' jobs, their organizational positions, and the managerial skills and knowledge required. Analysis of the data obtained shows great differences between these requirements and educational preparation for them. Much increased preparation through training, self study and continuing education should therefore be of benefit to civil engineers and the performance of their industry.
