Water supply management in Hyderabad city
Urban water supply systems are prone to many problems, from high population densities, to shortages of funds, to bad management and planning. In this paper, the functioning of the water supply management system in Hyderabad city is studied, looking into various aspects like quality and quantity of supply, consumption, tariff structuring and the administrative set-up. Finally, environmental management imperatives, which are essential for the proper management of an urban water supply system, are derived.
