Conservation strategy: Making it conserve
Australian governments are currently developing conservation strategy. This paper seeks to raise critical awareness to the process. It suggests:
even the most diligent efforts (Victorian Government) treat conservation as a mechanical problem
for conservation strategy to conserve it must recognise that our ways of life require fundamental change
we might begin by using General Systems Theory to promote a new world view; directly, through formal education, indirectly via institutional change.
