Poles from forest thinnings for low-cost housing
If indigenous resources and traditional techniques are to be utilised for low-cost housing in developing countries, the author shows from experience in Sri Lanka how this could be applied in countries with good forest areas. The thinnings from cultivation could provide poles that may be treated with preservatives to make effective materials for such housing.
