Non-destructive evaluation of heat-welded seams of roof coverings
The authors have established that the homography of the heat-welded seams of polymer-modified bituminous products can be studied by the ultrasonic pulse-echo method. A marked resonance echo from the seam area indicates the lack of homogeneity of the seam which can then be graded into different structural types by different echo patterns. Further studies are necessary to optimize the output data.
