Bolted end-plate connections for steel structures
Obvious economies in practice have increased the popularity of these connections for steel framed buildings, but their actual behaviour in use is still debated. Extensive research in Denmark points to the hitherto undervalued significance of prying forces and suggests a more realistic design approach than the semiempirical basis of the current AISC Manual of Steel Construction.
