Housing Reform And Fishermens Bend 1900–1913
This paper examines the development of the Port Melbourne Council's (PMC) housing campaign between 1910 and 1913. In addition, it explores the contest between the PMC, the harbour trust and the lands department over the use of Fishermens Bend, an area of vacant crown land adjacent to Port Melbourne and the proposed site of the PMC's workers' housing scheme.
