How the deformations of concrete floor slabs affect non-loadbearing partitions has been the subject of a combined field and laboratory study performed at the Division of Building Technology, Chalmers University of Technology, in Goteborg, Sweden. Tests indicate that non-loadbearing partitions can carry considerable loads. Critical limits of partition deformations where cracks may occur at the joints have also been identified.
