A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Reinforced and grouted cavity brickwork offers possibilies of a monolithic form of construction in which the brickwork provides a permanent and acceptable formwork; but there is little researchbased data on this development. Within a research programme in the UK, the author has carried out extensive tests on such reinforced slabs and beams, with spans ranging from 1.3 to 6.3 m.
