Fiabilité des murs de contreventement en maçonnerie
In order to improve the knowledge research of the wind bracing masonry behavior aiming French regulation as well as European regulations, the CSTB leads a research program of walls built in full scale. They are built with various types of clay masonry blocs, according to various types of vertical joint (empty, full, intermediate situation). In this paper, a simplified model of compressive diagonal failure of the wall is proposed and compared with the wall strength devised from the codes recommendation. The model integrates the mechanical characteristics of the used elements, as well as the geometrical characteristics of the wall. The reliability study has been performed in order to justify the partial safety factor. To this end, a level II method is used.
