ASHRAE thermal comfort standards
Standard 55-66 of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers sets out certain criteria for thermal comfort, taking office work as the datum situation. This article discusses both the standard and its proposed revision in relation to test data from Kansas State University. It suggests also a method of using the criteria to give a quality rating for environmental control systems in buildings.
