Recommendations for Recruiting and Developing Early Career Membership in Construction Associations
Associations in all types of industries are required to rethink and reshape their recruitment efforts to engage the next generation of early-career professionals. Many of the things that previously attracted members don’t seem to work. This study looked at builders’ associations and how they can improve their current strategies and offerings to attract Young Professionals or those moving through the various early stages of their careers. The objective of the Delphi study conducted was to come to an expert consensus on recommendations for associations to increase membership. The results indicate associations must enhance education and exposure to young people about the industry, provide more mentorship opportunities, and encourage young people’s involvement in leadership positions.
