This paper is concerned with wood crack in the time domain. The numerical method is applied to orthotropic linear viscoelastic fracture. The modelling of crack propagation is developed and is limited to mode I. An experimental specimen is optimised in order to observe solely the viscoelastic crack propagation and to validate the numerical approach.
