Sorption du plomb sur différents matériaux
Lead, used as a protective screen against ionising rays, is one of the most important tone elements among the low-level radioactive waste. The assessment of quantities transferred to the environment from a repository requires the knowledge of the interactions with the constitutive materials of the artificial barriers and the subjacent groundwater. The retention capacity of completely hydrated cement, detrital cement and 3 natural materials are investigated by means of batch tests. All the materials show high lead retention capacities. About 99% of the lead in aqueous solution are quickly transferred to the solid phase. The retention capacity of the detrital cement sample is particularly noteworthy.
