A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
This article describes a beginning design studio in which building technology and materials are fundamental components of the design process. Building technology and materials are presented in the studio as conceptual and malleable organizations with classification systems of practical applications. Based on constituent elements and consistent rules, these organizations support identifiable aesthetic qualities and manifest specific characters of form, space, and poetic experience.
