Green building performance prediction/assessment
To make decisions, building designers need to predict and assess the performance of their ideas with respect to various criteria, such as comfort, aesthetics, energy, environmental impact, economics, etc. Performance prediction with respect to environmental impact requires complicated models and massive computations, which are usually possible only through computer-based tools. This paper focuses on the use of computerbased tools for predicting and assessing building performance with respect to environmental impact criteria for the design of green buildings. It contains analyses of green performance prediction/assessment and descriptions of available tools, along with discussions on their use by different types of users. Finally, it includes analyses of the cost and benefits of green performance prediction and assessment. Pour prendre des decisions, les concepteurs de batiments doivent predire et evaluer les performances de leurs idees en fonction de divers criteres, tels que le confort, l'esthetique, l'energie, l'impact sur l'environnement, l'economie, etc. La prevision des performances liees a l'impact environnemental necessite des modeles complexes te d'enormes calculs qui peuvent generalment etre uniquement effectues par des outils informatiques. Le present document est axesur l'utilisation d'outils informatiques qui permettent de predire et d'evaluer les performances des constructions en fonction de criteres d'impact environnemental pour la conception de batiments ecologiques. Il fournit des analyses sur la prevision/evaluation des performances ecologiques et decrit les outils disponibles, ainsi que leur utilisation par differents types d'utilisateurs. Il inclut enfin des analyses sur le cout et les avantages de la prevision et de l'evaluation des performances ecologiques.
