Mixture Design of Fire-Retarded OGFC in Road Tunnel
Because surface performance of cement pavement can't satisfy requirements of road tunnel, asphalt pavement is widely used in road tunnel in China. However, due to complexity of driving condition in road tunnel, traditional asphalt pavement also can't satisfy requirements of road tunnel well. Moreover, combustibility of asphalt will cause hidden trouble to the use of traditional asphalt pavement. Hence, open graded friction course (OGFC) asphalt mixture has been considered as the pavement material. Mixing fire-retarded inorganic compound into asphalt will improve the fire-retarded performance of asphalt. Meanwhile, OGFC design method has been developed. Based on the work, study on the permeability, skid resistance, stability on high temperature, water susceptibility and low noise of OGFC mix to satisfy requirements of the pavement of road tunnel.
