The economic impact of the XII Commonwealth Games on the Brisbane region
Input-output multipliers are applied to obtain estimates of the total (direct and indirect) economic impact of the Commonwealth Games on the Brisbane Region. The results indicate that the majority of economic impacts on the region derived from capital expenditure for the provision of Games facilities, rather than the expenditure of visitors to the Games.
