Improving communication and sharing of data between building project partners is one way to better integrate their activities. STEP aims at standardising product model data notably by defining application protocol. First results of standardisation activity in HVAC domain are presented. After detailing STEP Application Protocol methodology, we develop AP228 entitled « Building Services: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning » and illustrate the main concepts of the reference model by an example. Some comments relating to the condition of achievement of Application Protocol conclude this article.
