Salinization Control on Irrigated Land
Efficient use of land and water resources in irrigation is to a greater extent dependent on solving the task of salinization control.
The area of salinized soil in the zone of active farming worldwide makes up over 50 million ha, and annual damage due to underharvesting from these lands is estimated at a considerable sum.
In the USSR for the past 30 years a system of measures on salinization control on irrigated lands have been elaborated and put into practice. Among the most important are increased efficiencyo firriagation systems drainage, leachings, leaching regitne of irrigation, deep loosening and other methods of agro-reclamation.
