Thermal performance of insulated concrete blocks
Site observation and detailed finite element thermal modelling were employed and with these techniques it was possible to show how poor storage and handling damaged individual insulated elements and more importantly how the mortar acted as a cold bridge across the insulation. This highlighted the need to consider all thermal bridging of a wall construction if the true thermal performance is to be realised.
