Inaccuracies in assembling industrialised components can be traced to wide tolerances in measurement as well as in manufacturing, and CIB and the International Federation of Surveyors have therefore jointly produced a guide to measuring practice on the site. The author served on the joint working group and is a member of CIB working commissions dealing with tolerances and with matters relating to international modular co-ordination.
