Can 'green' buildings positively contribute to business performance and organizational effectiveness? Can 'green' buildings affect high-level organizational outcomes, such as profitability, customer satisfaction and innovation? How do the physical attributes of green buildings affect the physiological, psychological, cognitive and social functioning of building occupants at the individual level? This paper explores the wider context of sustainable design, integrating work form organizational effectiveness and human factors to suggest that 'green' buildings provide economic and organizational benefits for business. Les batiments ecologiques peuvent-ils positivement contribuer a accroitre les performances des entreprises et l'efficacite organisationnelle? Peuvent-ils affecter les resultats organisationnels a un tres haut niveau, tels que la rentabilite, la satisfaction du client et l'innovation? Comment les attributs physiques des constructions ecologiques affectent-ils le fonctionnement physiologique, psychologique, cognitif et social des occupants au niveau individuel? Le present document analyse, dans un contexte elargi, la notion de conception durable, y compris l'efficacitede l'organisation et les facteurs humains, afin de montrer que les constructions ecologiques presentent des avantages economiques et organisationnels pour les entreprises.
